"As a student of Blue Oxer Farm, I feel confident that my child is learning the fundamentals of safe, and knowledgeable riding in a first-rate environment. Emily Brinkman is an outstanding instructor who effectively communicates her knowledge and expertise to her students. She is kind and patient, quick to correct, and always ready to recognize and praise a student's success. My daughter says, "Emily knows the importance of the basics. She is helping me develop as a rider by building my skills on a solid foundation through slow and steady progress." In addition to wonderful instruction, the horses of Blue Oxer Farm always impress me with their gentleness and contentment which speaks to their exceptional care and handling. Blue Oxer Farm is truly a great place to learn and ride!"
"We've been riding with Emily for over a year now. I have to write a review telling about our first show experience with her! FANTASTIC!

She's attentive to ALL her students! She made sure we were in the ring ON TIME and ready to go. I've worked with several trainers over the years, and Emily beats them all HANDS DOWN! (or is that heels down?). I would recommend her training/barn to anyone looking for a well managed barn and training program. Her sweet personality is an added bonus. She's a wonderful person and wonderful with the kids AND adults! It's a breath of fresh air to work with someone of her experience and great personality. I love her barn. No stress, no drama. I gave 5 stars to this wonderful barn and trainer."
"I have been riding for many years now. I first began riding with Emily nearly six years ago. Since then, she started her own farm named Blue Oxer in Maple City, MI. I have found Emily to be a wonderful trainer. She is honest, fun, enthusiastic and an excellent all-around horseman. She is kind and gentle with the tots and raises the bar with the advanced riders.
As she herself was taught, each of her students learns all facets of this sport; from grooming and ground work with the horses to the cleaning of tack and everything in between. Emily has worked diligently to earn her certifications from the leading associations/governing bodies in the equine industry. I believe that because she is deeply commited to her craft, she continues to expand her knowledge of the latest proven training techniques and general equine health. She embodies a true passion for horses and her riders, which shines through and makes her one of the most enjoyable trainers I've ever worked with.
For me, Blue Oxer is a lot more than just a barn, it's a family. One which I am so glad to be a part of. I am looking forward to a personal goal of once again taking our gelding back to the show ring this summer with Emily and having a super great time with the whole family (kids, husband and dogs in tow!). The way it should be- fun and safe with a trainer who share all the same values that I have.
Thank you, Emily, for getting me back in the saddle again...For a moment I had forgotten just how much I love the view."
